You will get a 101 recommendations from the good forumites. Everyone has their favourites.

Myself.. for winter commuting I run 2 Hope Vision 1's. One on static, one on flash mode.

I can dazzle people in broad daylight with my Moon Comet rears. £20 each.

By the way unless you're willing to try the Chinese Magicshine rip-offs, £50 will only get you be-seen front lights - generally with a max output of 100 lumens.

Say you've got £30 to spend after buying rear lights.

Lezyne's new Hecto Drive and Moon's front Comet both output 100 lumens, but I wouldn't recommend the front Comet just because the way it shines isn't suited to a front light IMO. Too blinding.

Lezyne is also a bit of a style brand though, so their prices tend to be a little bit higher for the same stuff.

I don't have much experience outside of that, and I haven't been as satisfied with any of my front lights as I am with my rear lights. Most likely because proper front lights are so costly.

Recently went through this myself but one thing that's worth considering is how your going to power them especially if your a regular commuter. The cost of ordinary batteries can be a real money pit and rechargeable can be a bit of a pain in logistical terms ensuring they're fully charged when needed.

Although a fairly costly option I went for a set of Exposure lights.

Agree with Kookas, I have a Moon Comet rear and it's fantastic, recharging is quick and easy via USB. Great light

The moon comet is a great light. On flash mode, always get wide passes.
The moon meteor front light lasted one year so not impressed at £50-£60.
Decided cheap cree T6 lights are they way forward.
But stay with the rear moon and a battery operated cateye as a backup

Crud RoadRacer MK IIs. They might be the only mudguards you can fit in the tiny clearance the T3 affords.

Tangent to the initial OP question - anyone seen front fork mounted lights?
Saw one today along embankment and it was very affective with a normal bar mounted device

I have those on my T3 aswell. The rear fits really well, front less so. In fact i couldn't get the front to fit under the brake caliper without rubbing on the tyre. So some creative licence to sort that one out

My front mudguard got thrown away by a relative, so I only have the rear anyway.

Ah, I tried them last Winter but they didn't work out too well. They were constantly rubbing and then one of them got sucked into the wheel so I gave up.
