Just done a few more rides, one unexpected bonus is that stand up pedaling seems alot better. When needed, a quick stand up in a high gear can really get you moving!
Ah, bit of a lovely nostalgic moment - that was me only a few months ago. Now I don't need to think about un-clipping. Just need to remember to drop a few gears when coming to a halt.
Yes, standing up is a different game altogether with clipless. Also you'll start to feel those hamstrings a bit, which were a bit useless on flat pedals.
Would I go back to flat pedals? Like driving a small engined car after having some decent power under the bonnet - just seems pointless.
I went clipless some time ago with some M520's. They came with the reflectors as well for no extra cost (thanks CRC) so I can use flats as well. I have only had one moment *so far*. I actually have a different problem now. I usually unclip a few metres before I intend to stop. I unclip OK, but as I am so good at clipping in now (no longer need to look down), when peddling the last few metres I end up accidentally clipping back in again and risking a fall. I have found the best way to avoid this is after I have unclipped, I move my foot forward a few inches so that there in no danger of clipping in again. The other way, which is not quite so convenient is no flick the peddle round so that the flat side is uppermost. This causes a slight delay in clipping in again as the peddle has to be flicked round again.
