So just before leaving work it starts to rain hard. being my first time i was going to ride in the rain i was pretty nervous to say the least!

I was doing great and really starting to love the extra speed i have when needed!

Two minutes until getting home. I approach the traffic lights after a gentle down hill near the station, i concentrate on a rider in front and stop..

Yep forgot about being clipped in and had to pick my self of the floor gutted!

Its all going well for me ha!

No pain, just a scratch to the pedal.

Does this Road cycling get any easier?

lol yea don't worry on my second now first time only unclipped one foot the wrong one and second I tried too pull away on a steep drive way and clipped in too soon by accident and fell side ways into the hedge made me chuckle that one

Im glad im not the only one.

I just feel a bit of a newbie idiot currently. Im going to wreck the bike within four weeks at this rate

yea I was thinking the same the first time last week I bent my shifters round and scratched the levers was not happy. The guys and on here told me how too reposition them in about a minute so bit happier now.
But my perfect looking bike is not looking quite so perfect now

Live to Ride
My first clipless moment was at a set of traffic lights in Burseldon on a Saturday morning. Shed loads of cars around. If I'd have seen me fall off I would have pmsl also

I was thinking of getting some stabilizers as I had 2 unclipping events in the first week. It's got much better but even now I get the odd close call.
My first was coming out of the mersey tunnel following a charity ride in front of loads of spectators. Ultimate embarrassment.

I spent weeks repeating the mantra 'unclip, unclip, unclip' every time I slowed down...first slow fall was very embarrassing, at the gate of the school where I teach. I think every parent in the school watched me fall!

The "clipless topple" what fun to be embarrassed in this way.

My first was at a bit of a blind junction, approached with caution but my neighbor (it had to be didn't it!) suddenly appeared from no where couldn't get foot out in time and like an action replay on TV slowly ended up in an untidy heap on the ground, only pride hurt

The second was on the start line of a sportive, both feet on the ground but for some reason when trying to clip my right foot in I couldn't kept trying but wasn't having it foot kept slipping off. Suddenly success, but all my weight is on my right side and over I go can't put my foot down I'm clipped in! Took out the three people to the right of me

I felt like putting the bike away last night its taking a lot of effort to get use to.

I am going to try go on a longer ride tonight with not much stopping and starting to pick my self up a bit!

Yep, I think most folks have done the topple! Its worth persevering so much better clipless and you do get used to it I've had them six months now and my two incidents were in the first month mind you have had a few near misses since and I dare say I have tempted fate now.
