The not knowing how it's going to go is part of the fun when doing your biggest ever ride. Don't overthink it. Just make sure you have enough to drink, your mobile phone, and enough money on you to get home by other means if all does not go to plan. Wear your most comfortable shorts or tights, as the longer it takes, the more you will appreciate the padding. Don't start too fast, but try to set a steady and sensible pace. Good luck. Enjoy!

Thanks guys and i try to aim for a drink every 15 mins and food every 20 mins or should i reduce the timing mores

Fluid need is more influenced by heat than exertion.

It's cold, as no doubt you've gathered, so you won't need anywhere near as much to drink as you would if you did the ride in scorching temperatures.

Having said that, little and often is always much better than riding for an hour then emptying your bottle.

Most of my rides this time of year are 30 miles or fewer.

I always take a bottle, but might return with a fair bit left.

In summer I would take two bottles for the same length ride, and might get a top-up somewhere on the way round.
