@morrisman yes, some nasty hills those, but the worse by far was Dagnal up to Ringshall, just seemed to go on for ever, real toughy. Have you cycled up Hale Lane in Wendover? Ive cycled down it a couple of times, but not up yet, looks like hard work.

No, Hale Lane remains on my to-do list. Have managed most other ascents up the Chilterns but it is by far the steeped I know of.

Did you ever get up The Hale? My in-laws have the old house on the corner there (rather unimaginatively called 'The Hale'). I very rarely get to ride up it though as the prospect of trying to get up it 'cold' is just too daunting...I often finish a ride coming down it though.

Congrats, @NorcoRichie and @Garry A I'm aiming for 50 hopefully in the not too distant future, I managed 42 whilst on holiday in Norfolk Last week although that was almost flat ( I could have done 50 then but my OH couldn't be persuaded) I then managed 30 back at home with the hills and found that tough but manageable so hopefully soon :-)

Well done...............I did my first 50 earlier this year. I was really pleased with a) doing it & b) the encouraging comments from CC...........it really does help.
I managed to up it to 68 this month...........hope you do similar (or better) soon.
