Brilliant going, it's nice to push yourself out isn't it? Don't be too hasty with the bars, probably half a cm at a time if at all. It might be better to work on your saddle instead so that you're not tipping forward? TBH, if you bring the bars back you may just end up adding even more pressure on your wrists.

Well done. You're a big fella so don't go out to hard, allow at least the first 15 to 20 mins gentle spinning to warm up and then start increasing the pace. Also spin down the last 2 or 3 miles to work the lactic out of your legs.
make sure yo've had a decent brekkie and keep sipping from the off. 18 miles shouldn't really require extra food, but you should start nibbling something if you're going-on to 30 miles.
But don't overdo it, cycling's great because the miles and pace will build quickly.
