First 10m TT

I did my first 10TT yesterday. I knew the course well as it's made up of a few loops and I cycle the loop when I go on my cycles.
It's quite flat 1/3 is rather flat the rest bends around the loop and the road is very uneven and it gets quite a lot of wind.

It was quite intimidating to begin with as it seems a very male orientated environement and was the only lady and there are no other ladies that do TT with the Club.
However by the end they did warm up to me and look forward to do more and better myself!

I did it in 35.18  these are the splits

Well done! I'm doing my first in July so it's encouraging to hear good experiences. Did my first unofficial 10miler yesterday, it was tough! Even without the competitive edge. But like dan_bo says, pretty addictive I think.

Well done - I tried my first 10 in January and thoroughly enjoyed myself, the most nerve-wracking bit for me was being clipped in and held up at the start (which my friends all chickened out of ).

I persuaded four of my female friends to come along - we were the only solo ladies riding on the day, but as the January ride is a "taster" event with optional fancy dress there was a good atmosphere and we felt very welcome, think it's a bit more serious the more into the season you get but I've not been able to get back out for another go yet.

If I really end up going faster then that's a deal!

And you get strange blokes waving things at you at roundabouts.

If you do them regularly you will see the times tumble until you plateau, then you will need to look at your training etc. For a ten you really need a long warm up, riding 10 to 15 miles to the start is ideal.

Well done. Your times will tumble as you do more as believe it or not you are learning the course and how to pace it automatically. I was told it takes a good 2 seasons to really get good at them.

We have quite a few ladies on ours and one of them puts me to shame so in truth the intimidation is probably the other way round!

Well done, I'm fairly new to TT too. I did two back in 2010 and then last year my club had to abandon due to long term roadworks on two separate parts of the course. Last night I did my first of 2012 - a 10 mile like yours.

I managed it in 24'49 and came 5th overall. I was pretty chuffed.
