Yes, its amazing how good it makes you feel! 'Next' is a week in Wales in July.....between 45 & 65 miles a day....for 7 days.......with HILLS! Now that really will hurt!
Well done pigo,:bravo: The first 100 miler is always a great achievement and the memory will stay forever. Now you have done it, what next?:bicycle:

Well done pigo, more are sure to follow but for now enjoy the feeling of achievement.

I need to get there pretty soon. I'm determined to do the EE in August, which is 101. (Last time I did over 100 was in 1987 I think).

Well done and especially so since you appear to have been solo. I passed that particular rmilesone for the first time Friday before last with no great difficulty but I had the supporting company of some agreeable madcaps who rode on into Wales for a FNRttC. Believe me it is much easier in company.

Congratulations Pigo :bravo: I'm doing my first 100 in September. I did a 60 yesterday and am feeling a bit tired today. I don't think I could have managed another 40. It seems quite a gulf at this stage and I'm a bit apprehensive.

Do you have any training tips for other 100 wanabees?

When you can do 60 miles in one go, the stepping up to the 100 is not that greater step. Keep on doing long rides and remember to drink before you are thirsty, and eat before you are hungry. Don't go off at a fantastic pace.

Yes, in agreement there - keep it steady & enjoy it. My average came out at 13.6mph so I didn't think that was too bad overall, especially for a solo ride. I'm already thinking about the next one - what makes it more do-able for me is making sure I dont cover the same ground twice so I aim for a massive circle.
Drink lots & stop to eat often.
Thanks to you all for the encouraging comments  I'm loving this cycling malarky
Now off to wash & blow dry the beloved Trek!
Not a problem for me Paulus, my average pace is only 12 - 14mph (on a good day, with a tail wind)

Thats ace!

Your milestone mileage jump has given my 50 to 70 jump renewed vigour!

100 km (62.5 mi) is a good stepping stone for that one

Well done Pigo!
I also did my 1st 100miler on Saturday - though I did have my boyfriend to draft into the headwind for the first 2 hours... the last 1h30, which was back into the headwind again, was awful...
