I agree, theres good and bad on both sides, like you say even when not working you can never switch off, thinking of ideas, marketting, making sure everythings in order etc. then theres no paid holidays or sick pay. Then theres the flip side of finishing early, being n control of what you earn etc. Ive been employed since i left school so am seeing it the other way round, but there are days when the stress gets to you and like you say all you have to do when employed is show up, what happens during the day is not really your concern.

Cheers, pretty much what im doing now , im ok on a longer ride but tend to feel it if i do a longer ride around 60 miles as i dont have the miles in the legs

Sounds like it would be a good idea to shelve any thoughts of training till your hours drop, you're fresher and you have more time. Remember its no good training if you're tired before you start, you'll get very little if any benefit from it.
