Feeling mean spirited...

Just remember 'what goes around comes around'.
For whatever reason you don't like this person, one day, something bad will happen to them and they will suffer ( I was going to say 'like a dog' then but I quite like dogs and wouldn't like to see one suffer). You can rest easy knowing that this is going to happen.

I once had the misfortune to go out with a really nasty bloke - he turned out to be abusive. I left, and for years really wished ill on him. Eventually I met someone else and years later, by co-incidence, saw him when riding my bike over in the peaks once. He was with his girlfriend. She was about three times the size of me - i'm talking 20 stone - with 0.0001% of the glamour. And I'm not that glamourous either. Yes, that's shallow, and weak and all that, but it was SO satisfying.

He saw me, smiled and said hello, and I gave the coldest look I could muster, while my husband and one of my male friends either side of me stood up really tall. Of course I felt sorry for the poor woman he was with.

Quite revealing post from you Arch. You know how it is- you sort of build up a picture of people from their posts (well the interesting ones anyway) and you post was a bit of a shock to the picture of you I had.
But- good to see. I think that anything in life that drives us on must be good. Even if it is for not good reasons.
Enjoy the cake and move on. Or decide that they are not worthy of driving you to cake.

... better still take this person a piece of the cake to alleviate any nasty feelings you have towards them. Obviously don't eat the 'special' piece that you've laced with Arsenic though.;)
