I followed the Park Tool link and got the front mech perfectly set up very quickly. I started from scratch and followed the process.
I did the lower limit first, with zero tension on the cable. Adjusted to what looked about right, then pulled on the cable itself to change to big ring and let go instantly so the mech falls to it's limit like it would in use. Can then see it's movement properly. There's a lot more too it than that, but the guide is so easy to follow.
