Army and Navy is that what they were called black oval things?
Sherbet pips because you got loads for your money
Toffee bon bons
Anything liquorice
Huge pear drops

and pretty much everything else I like now - caramac was good because it was cheap

Can I include ice cream I know it's not a sweet but I always liked Lord Toffinghams, they were 8p toffee on a stick covered in I think one half caramel ice cream the other half chocolate dipped in chocolate - yum.

I don't think I have a favorite but anything with toffee, yum, yum

Sorry but I just love them and I can not help it!

Candy Twist and Winter Mixture conjure up an assortment of spicy flavours - for chocolate it was always a Caramac or Steven Fry's Five Boys...or maybe the honeycomb or the coconut ice. Oh! not forgetting the Sherbert Fountain, the Spaceships and the 'Dab' "Fizzzzbuurp!"
I can't remember the name of the chocolate covered bar with the white filling, flat base and a curved upper side.... something 'Cream' made by Frys again
Peppermint Cream!

I can't remember to be honest:wacko:. My overriding memory is of the cherry-red ones.

Bit weird, but I used to think the yellow ones taste like the smell of horsemuck .

I remember my sister bringing them home when I was young .They were just sticks that you chewed on, don't remember getting splinters though.

All floral gums taste of soap. I remember the horrors when we thought we had midget gems, but they were soap gums.

I have a bit of a soft spot for that non-chocolate that you would get tool shapes in. Although remembering it now, my gag reflex is kicking in.
And having looked at those websites, I may have to order some of these now.

Toffos... I emailed Nestle last month and got this very sad news back

"Thank you very much for your email.

Unfortunately we had to withdraw Toffos from our range some years ago as they were expensive to make and sales were relatively low. It was a difficult decision for us because we are proud of all our products and do not like to disappoint our consumers. As far as we know, the brand teams have no plans at present to re-introduce this line however, we will pass your request on to them.

Thank you once again for taking the time and trouble to contact us. We hope you will continue to enjoy our products in the future.

I remember them. I think I am right in saying that they are just the root of the licorice plant.

My mrs used to teach in Pontefract and some of the kids would come into school in the mornings chewing roots they had collected that morning on the way to school.
