For four days and lost 5 lb. Tim Ferriss book 'The Four Your Body' is an inspirational lesson in what's possible with a little bit of knowledge. I've used it before and had impressive results, I've also used atkins, which still courts controversy for some reason, weight.just dropped off me. Drastically reducing your carbohydrate is definately the key. Boxers and bodybuildrs have known this for years, the world is only just starting to catch up. Obviosusly if you have underlying health issues, then check with a doctor. Unfortunately a lot of GPs are a bit stuck in a rut with all the 'calories out greater than calories in' simplistic nonsense.

I am working hard to try and lose weight that went on following a total thyroidectomy. Nothing much happened for a long time regardless of how little I ate (without being silly about it) or how many miles I rode. Since switching from a hybrid to a road bike I now find I am very comfortable spinning quite fast in lower gears, yet I am riding at a higher average speed than on my hybrid, and doing more mileage seemingly for less effort. Having said that I have noticed that my weight is starting to come off at last, and I have dropped about half a stone in the last 6 weeks or so. I just hope that my doctor doesn't start messing around with my thyroxine again.

Hiya, I'm a heavy guy and I think I need to lose around 6-7 stone!!!

I'm starting to cycle to and from work as from Monday, which should definitely help me with that, or so I hope it will :smile: plus I plan on going on leisure rides at the weekends and stuff, good luck to us!
