I could do with losing about 7 to 14 lbs in weight. I had a stomach bug and couldnt eat at all for 24 hours then little for the next 24 hours. I lost 4 lbs in weight and a month later its still not gone back on.

I seem to be able to maintain my weight but not lose any more at this point.

I know some people think fasting is good for you. Would fasting 24 hours once a month do you any harm?

No harm at all.

I wouldn't do it unless I knew I had a relatively easy day in front of me just because of energy loss. And if your stomach propels you into the kitchen in the middle of the night, you stand a good chance of doing more harm than good.

why not eat a tiny bit and then do an intense workout, better to eat and burn, than not to eat at all.

Maybe set times. So from when you wake up add 12 hours. For example

It's good for you. Just make sure you eat enough also. As well holding back your body will need it to recover. You may loose your appetite soon and nothing stays in

Why not try the 'Daniel fast'. Just eat fruit and veggies, no meat or bread. I did this for 3 weeks earlier on this year and I felt great afterwards. I am going to do it again very soon.

My diet is far from ideal and I am not one to go telling people what to eat or how to diet, but my opinion is that fasting is for many people asking for trouble. Not because the actual fasting is dangerous (it could be), but because it is like holding a red rag to the binge monster!

I would rather eat sawdust!

Fasting for weight loss does not work. If you deny your body its usual food intake it automatically slows your metabolism to compensate. Eat smaller portions and exercise harder I.e intervals or hill repeats.

Why would you? Most fasters in reality don't lose much more than those who diet sustainably over a long term.

Eat smaller portions eh? You don't know how Banjo eats currently, so this advice is based on what?

Common sense and experience. Sure I don't know Banjo's eating habit but losing weight is not the rocket science that nutritionists will make you believe. Anyone wanting to lose weight needs to eat less than current and or exercise harder. Simply going hungry for long periods is not the answer.
