You're definitely the first person that springs to mind when I see clothing being described as street chic

"Chic Fashion: Stylish without Being a Slave for Fashion. Chic is basically a word that describes a person who is fashionable, but it doesn't necessarily mean that they have to wear the latest and hottest looks."

Yes,i like that. I don't follow 'fashion' as to me it's uniform. Do folk who follow the latest fashion trends actually like what they buy,or do they feel they have to buy it to feel part of the crowd? The latest trend of home decoration is to paint the rooms grey and buy grey carpets. I dislike grey very muchxx(. I bet some of those who paint their houses grey dislike it as well but feel they have to follow the crowd.

Hopefully I can meet Accy on the 13th and report on his sartorial elegance.............

Wow, £22.99 that lovely coat went for! It's the sort of coat that could cost you £100's new.

Some fashion observations of mine for you to ponder over:smile:. I notice that olive green is quite popular among the younger males. I went into a local sports shop on Saturday (Can't say the name, but it's owned by that 'fat bas...d' who owns Newcastle United FC:secret:) and saw trainers, track bottoms, tops and t-shirts,even a rucksack in this colour. I have a chunky jumper and a fleece in this colour, bought last year i hasten to add,as i don't want you thinking i'm one of those oldies who dresses in youth clothes trying to look trendy.:smile:I was however tempted to buy the olive green trainers and the rucksack to 'compliment' my jumper and fleece, but i thought 'stop it you fool, you'll look such an idiot'.:stop:
I also notice that this autumn's colour is a sort of mustard shade. Oranges and browns are also 'in'. As i was wandering around the women's clothes section in a local supermarket:whistle: i saw quite a few items in these shades, yet on looking through the men's stuff they didn't have anything in these colours at all. Does anyone know why olive green seems to be exclusively for males while the mustard/orange/brown colours are only available for women it seems?

I've always dressed fashionably and feel I cut quite a dash when out and about.

Last night thought i'd dress like men used to on NYE. Not quite a suite with a shirt and tie,but a pair of smart trousers,a double breasted crombie style coat and wait for it....a shirt and cravat, topped off with my latest acquisition of a burgundy velvet flat cap. Well,i got a few admiring glances off the ladies, but their cavemen in tow found me 'poncy'. They asked 'why bother'? and 'have you been on a date'? blah blah. What really annoyed me was some pleb kept referring to 'Peaky Blinders'. Now i've heard of this program, but i haven't seen it at all, since i only have a telly that comes on once a year for the TdF and if there's a big football event like the world cup on. I hate this 'Peaky Blinders' referral because it makes me uncomfortable about wearing what was once of a day normal accepted headgear around here. What pees me off mostly is that i've seen pics of this Peaky Blinders thingy and they aren't wearing flat caps. No,they're wearing 'bakerboy/newsboy' caps, which are floppier, bigger and tend to be made from 6 panels of cloth, whereas a flat cap is made from just 1 or 2 pieces of cloth. I just can't seem to wear a flat cap now without someone saying ' Oh look, peaky blinders'!... ffs! One bloke even took a pic' of me wearing my cap and seemed quite chuffed about his picture. Anyway, the cap is no longer mine as another bloke liked it so much that he offered me a tenner for it. I declined his offer so he went up a fiver, then eventually had to part with 20 quid to secure the deal. So i left the pub minus my flat cap which wasn't ideal as it was cold and started to rain, but i came home and ordered exactly the same cap off fleabay for the same £7.99 with free p&p i'd bought the original for.
