..... I may not be on this site for much longer. I've just realised that the tin of pilchards I ate for lunch had a 'best before' date of August 2005. How long have I got?

I'm not showing any symptoms yet but that's a classic sign of impending doom to a hypochondriac.
Don't worry you've got at least an hour, Oh you posted over an hour ago.

If we don't hear from you in the morning we will assume the worst. So long, and no thanks for all the fish....

They didn't taste great which is why I checked the date later. I've tried blaming 'er indoors for not throwing them away but she just laughed in a callous kind of way and started looking for the life insurance policy. My last act will be to gift my bikes in the manner of the book exchange. I'm off to the pub tonight to try to expunge the effects with large quantities of Harveys Ale. Desperate times call for desperate measures!

If she gave them to you knowing they were out of date I doubt she'll get the insurance money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Panic over, I have just purged the bowels twice. I'm over the worst. I took on Deadliest Catch and came out with a creditable draw at least.

You think... Apparently, paracetamol overdoses often don't kill at the time, but a few days later after you've had your stomach pumped, as the drugs have already buggered up your liver....

Does that help?;)

I've looked it up, and the first sign of old pilchard poisoning is a luxuriant growth of pink hair on the head....

A friend at work regularly eats out of date tinned food, he finds in people recycle boxes. A few months ago he ate a tin of stewing steak from 2005, with no ill effect. We haven't yet found anything he wont eat. ;)

Did it smell and taste ok? Then it probably was. Best before dates are for paranoid freaks, or people with no sense of taste or smell.

I like the phrase 'Best Before End'. Well of course it's best before you get to the end! Always sad when there's none left! ;)

Hi Archer :hello:I'm a bit colded today so off work, not wishing to get worse. Hopefully a day in bed will shift it.
