Sorry, wasn't implying you did but rather that everything top of the line and premium prices is 'ceramic-this' and 'ceramic-that' these days, we will be wearing ceramic jerseys next.

Very true. I'm just slowly upgrading my groupset a bit at a time when the right bits come up at the right prices.
I'm going all SRAM Red not because it will make me faster, but because I think it looks lovely, will perform very well, and I like treating myself. It's an added motivation to get out on the bike.

I know what you mean. With the cycling tops there is a noticeable difference and I think it's enough to justify the extra couple of quid I paid, but it isn't quite the panacea that the blurb in the shop suggests.
