Hi,

I have recently bought a Whyte Saxon Cross and want to add a rack to it.

There are no mounts for the the bottom of the rack, but there are some for the top.

I want to use this rack http://www.evanscycles.com/products/topeak/super-tourist-dx-f-disc-rack-ec008130
Before buying I was told this product would fit (http://www.evanscycles.com/products/tubus/adapter-set-for-quick-release-axle-mounting-ec007989) but when we tried in the shop it didn't.

However, when I tried to attach the rack through the axle of the wheel it did work. There was enough clearance over the wheel. However the spindle was a few cm too short. The rack itself is 22cm wide, so the spindle needs to be long enough for that. Other than the inconvenience when changing a punctuate can anyone think of any other problems with that approach?

I have been unable to find a spindle long enough anywhere - can anyone suggest where I could get one?

Failing that I expect I could try p-clips but I was worried they wouldn't be as strong.

Anyone know where longer spindles would be available?

Cheers

Ian
