'No peace for the wicked' - my mother, always busy. The other thing I remember her saying is 'two three double six double six' - her CoOp 'divi' number. which I must have heard so many times as a child when dragged out for the daily shopping.

Just remembered another two for Ma Bollo. If pressed on what was for dinner, I’d get “wait and see and custard.“ or if in a less jovial mood, “sh** with sugar on.”

My dad was always “going to see a man about a dog” when ever I asked where he was going.

And if I asked what we had for dinner it was alway “bread and pull it”. Did anyone else ever hear that one?
