The nearest to what you want that I am aware of I guess would be http://netflixukvsusa.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/alphabetical-list-k-5-pm-sat-oct-26-2013.html and there's another list following the rest of the alphabet.
Thanks.

My tablet almost choked on that list!

That confirms my suspicions ... I spotted things that I'd like to watch again, such as I'm Alan Partridge but could not find premium shows such as House. If I am going to pay a monthly subscription, I would want a wider choice.

I tend to keep my PVR's HDD about 40% full, so I have always have something to watch, and I can top that up with DVDs from my local library.

The worst thing about a Humax, apart from all the crap channels, is the remote, unless your 2' away it's virtually useless, reminds me of the olden days when we used to have to walk all the way to the telly and back just to change a channel, by eck we had it tough - eeee lad!

If you expect to be able to just turn on the TV and find something fascinating to watch on Freeview Light, then you will often be disappointed.

Here's another approach ... Let's say you want to watch an average of 2 hours a day. That is 14 hours a week. If you are systematic about it, you should be able to find at least that amount of interesting viewing every week, dotted around the schedules. The last thing I do at night before going to bed is to set my PVR to record the next day's selected programmes. That way, I always have a stash of recordings to catch up on.

Every now and then, I go through the list and delete stuff that has been sitting there for a long period of time, but never watched. If it were really interesting, I would probably have watched it by then.
Haven't you bought a universal replacement one yet, you tight git?
I need one for my PVR; its transport controls are almost completely ineffective now. I have found workarounds using menus, but now the Stop button is also packing up. I think the only workaround for that is putting the machine in and out of Standby!

Playing fast and loose with the word "exciting" there Col^_^

Freesat is pretty good by the way. We've got it and it works fine with a good choice of FTA channels (inc Film 4). We can record two channels at once and the PVR is great. The only downside is a slight lag between pressing a button on the remote and the action being performed. We've had it a few years now and no issues.

You don't have my "exciting" life - no forum rides, no foreign holidays, no women, no drink, no drugs, no money, poor health ... you get the picture. Getting Film4 is a genuine highlight!

Yes - my sister has Freesat, so I've used it a few times. I know it is pretty cheap but I still can't afford the dish and PVR. It would be especially hard to justify when I have a perfectly good Freeview PVR which I'd struggle to get even £25 for on eBay. (There is one going for £35 but nobody has even bothered to bid for it, and my remote control is packing up.)

Speaking of my sister's Freesat ... I think I remember my brother-in-law telling me that there was a problem trying to watch and/or record certain combinations of channels simultaneously. He said it was because the 2 tuners could not share the same 'mux' (block of channels). That would be a real show-stopper for me! If it is true, then that is a ludicrous design limitation. It might just be their particular system. I'll ask them next time we speak.

I'll have to check that they have a proper twin LNB dish setup.

We can record any two channels, but depending on the channels we are recording you can't watch a third channel at the same time. As I say, sometimes you can, sometimes you can't it just depends on the channels you are recording/ watching.

But can you record any combination of 2 channels, and watch a recording that you made earlier?

That's what I can do now on my Freeview Box and I find it very handy. It is amazing how many times there are no decent programmes on for ages, then 2 come along and clash. Actually, that is probably predictable due to the channels competing with each other rather than thinking of what the viewers actually want, which is for their favourite shows not to clash!

I would love to get rid of my Sky subscription completely and go to freeview or freesat.
Unfortunately, this does not meet with approval with other members of the household.

That's what we did about 5 or 6 years ago. When the credit crunch first hit we were looking for ways to cut our costs and 40 odd quid a month was an easy one to chop. I used to hate the way the price would creep up every year. We kept the old Sky box though and use it on a second TV as a type of Freeview. The channel choice is actually pretty good. So coupled with our Freesat we now have recordable hd and multiroom for £0 a month!
