etrax H battery cover for handbar mount wanted now (sorted)

Hi

all the necessaries for an Etrex H arrived in the last day and i thought I was all set for a ride Sunday morning with the wife

I now realise I don't have the alternate battery cover that mates with the handlebar mount, I bought the oversize mount which doesn't/didn't include the cover and i read once or twice that the alternate cover was in the Etrex box

Anyway, as you can imagine I'm well irritated at this point in time, can anyone tell me anywhere in London that would sell me one?

And on a begging note, can anyone lend me one for tomorrow?

Are u sure it's an alternate battery cover?

There was a little screw-in bit with mine that was supposed to mate with the handle bar clamp. I don't use it because I have RAM mounts rather than the Garmin one.

Happy to lend it - but not sure How to get it to you for tomorrow!

it is for the mount I have and is commonly available

I'm now aware there's a garmin made one which seems to have a screw connection, sounds like your one

you appear to be near Southampton ...

Maplin Bishopsgate say they have the only one in London , looks like I'm going in, a shag but less that going to Southampton, thanks anyway

That's good. I was trying to remember where I got mine from but couldn't.

The next annoying thing is having to buy a mount for each bike ... (unless you like messing about with a screwdriver every time you are about to go out having realised your one mount is on the wrong bike!)

Good luck with your first GPS-navigated ride tomorrow. You just have to get into the habit of glancing down at the Etrex screen every now and then so you don't miss your turns. I got used to it in the first 20 miles or so.
