I would read the other threads on Coronavirus and cycling first. I think you'll find the majority feel two hours or so is the right balance between exercise and pleasure.

As has been said if it goes viral you risk creating a poor impression of cycling in general and may personally come in for a lot of flak.

You're clearly unsure if it's the right thing to do or not. If you were convinced you wouldn't be asking for collective approval. You're not the only one who's a bit fed up.

Great idea, terrible timing.
I was planning to knock out a metric century today weather and all that
But the more i think about it the more i feel its not appropriate, its going to take me solo around 3 and a half hours and i think thats taking the pish a bit given the current situation .

I'm 100% in agreement with this. I, and most of my main cycling buddies, are desperate for a long ride, coffee and chat but it's not to be. Today's weather would see us heading off on one of favourite rides to Silverdale but it's not to be.

This is why the OP's timing is poor for a great fun idea.

Looks like it out the window anyway.
Son decided to get up at 6 , all week itsben midday , mrs ck asleep so i cant go out and now tv has gone funny making a buzzing sound not speaker related .
TV is got to be 15 years old , the freeview and dvd player in it packed up years ago so gtg pick up a new one later and the time i have allotted means a long ride is out the window .
