Hey fellow cyclists,

After a week of diving down the rabbit hole of e-MTB research, I finally took the plunge and got myself a VelectriX Ascent Pulse X 29 with a Bafang M510 motor (250W, 95Nm) and the C11 LCD display.

Now I find myself researching eggrider to speedbox. I don't ride on the road and quite nervous in doing so, it will mostly be used on private dirt trails all flat and off-road and I'm quite a stocky build and new to the e-bike world but I'm unclear how to change the 25km/h limit the most easiest way.

To be honest, I’m a complete noob at this. I haven't touched a bike seriously since I was a kid, but I’m itching to get back into cycling with this modern tech. I just don’t want to screw up my shiny new toy before I even get to enjoy it. I do not live in the city or have access to people that could help.

Would be keen to hear any recommendations! And if you can throw in some beginner-friendly instructions, I'll be eternally grateful.

Define "private" dirt trails.

If the public have access to it, by payment or otherwise, then regardless of the ownership status of the land it is a "public place" for the purposes of the road traffic act and you're stuck with legal spec EPACs only.

You have to think about why and when do you need to go above 15.5 mph in circumstances where you can't just pedal it anyway
such as downhill?

and if you need (want?) the extra power to get up a hill then it will be there anyway because uphill you are probably doing less than 15 anyway

If what you want is a motorbike - then get a motorbike - an MTB is a different thing

G'Day Sport!

As you're in Australia you'd really need to research the local laws before doing anything, but if its come limited then I'm guessing Australia does limit the eBike speeds the same as us. Personally I wouldn't even consider de-limetering it if there was the slightest chance of me cocking it up (probably) or the plod taking it (not likely in the UK but you never know).

To be honest, if you're worried about screwing up your shiny new toy - leave it alone. Get out there and have fun on it. Get used to it. You may find that you're happy with it as it is.

If you still feel the need to add more speed after that then at least your toy won't be quite as shiny and new when you screw it up ;)

Pop over to endless sphere forums. They will be able to guide you best way to access the Bafang motor settings.

My family own around 20,000km of private farm land including river, don't get me wrong its easy to get on a quad bike and survey but also need to pedalling and get some exercise too.

The land is mainly flat but naturals bumps as you can imagine, I am finding myself pedalling faster than 25 km/h, like all the time. Its really annoying. I have never been in trouble with the law, nor do I intend to, but there is nothing around concessions riding a bike on private property at my own will and pace. I have grown up on private farm land my whole life.

I think the M400 was listed in the thread. Worth double checking with the K1 seller and asking on the forums to see if M410 has been hacked

Why don't you just get a dirt motor bike to ride on your family station Lebanator?
