Stopped at all 3, although the last one was a bit of a waste of time as no water left! So glad I booked today off work as I am aching like you would not believe, the hardest ride I have ever done, not sure whether or not to enter next years, hopefully the organisation will be a bit better! I probably will do it again as its fairly local and I'm a glutten for punnishment!

I went round without stopping. Managed to carry enough water and food with me. Didn't actually drink as much as I thought I would. But like you say, aching like mad and I agree the hardest ride I have ever done. But extremely enjoyable. I'm signing up for next years tonight! A real glutton for punishment.

That 1st 30 miles was hard wasn't it? Never done so many climbs in such a short distance. Who ever designed the course is a sadist!

Having a nice hot bath and a nice cold Stella helped when I got home!!! You're right about the 1st 30 miles, think that hurt a lot of folk including myself, the only other 100 miler I did was earlier in June where I completed it in a time of 6hrs 32mins, just shows how much harder it was for me. Do think I'll be signing up on the weekend, I'm sure the teething problems will be sorted out for next year and as its fairly local, why the hell not, lol.

Thank you.

I heard the organisation was poor. Not only did they run out of water as mentioned above but food and there were cars (moving I dont know) on the supposed closed roads.

Yes there were some issues. I certainly wasn't aware of any problems at the feed stations as I didn't stop but there were some issues around signage going missing or being turned around. However overall it was still a brilliant event, extremely challenging, very technical course. Some of the steep downhill sections were very exciting with some fantastic speeds attained and knowing they were closed roads meant being able to take a full racing line using the total width of the road.

It was because it was so hard and challanging that i enjoyed it so much, already signed up for next years event.

Hopefully the organisers will have learnt the lessons and i suspect that for the next one everything will be corrected making it even better. In fact will probably be the best one to now enter as the organisers have got to make sure they get it correct next time.
