ooo, I like the sound of that, will have been in the US for work for about 10 days before it, but hope to rent a bike over there to keep the legs happy.

My computer told me I did 4500 feet of climbing in 65 miles yesterday, all depends on the gradients, will have a look.

Yeah, we're doing it. It sounds great...apart from the time of year. If it was a month/six weeks earlier, we'd like it better but as it is, we're in.

Any food stops or drink stops included in this? I can't get my mates to join me for the York 100 but we might have a bash at this. 60 odd quid should get me some decent support I guess?

Yes it does include food/drinks according to the organisers. As far as I remember they said there were three feeding stations...but you may want to double check with them. Should be lots of fun!

Im all signed up for it, did my 1st 100 miler in June which I did in 6 hour 32 mins, looking to get around in about 6 hours on this one. Over 1000 folk signed up already according to the facebook link, should be a cracking day. I used to live 5 miles from Llangollen so know the roads really well, the Horseshoe pass aint that bad, just long, the Garth is the one I'm not looking forward to, only ridden down it and thought it was steep then!!!

Hope to see you there

Oh be carefull when riding through the ford on the way up to worlds end, very very slippy, I came off my bike last time I rode through it even though I was only doing a very slow pace keeping straight, will be dismounting to go through it on the day!!!

Hmmm.... Wales in October ?
Chance of moisture in the air and on the roads?
Over 1000 riders - possibly as many as 3500...all setting off within 1.5 hours

Sorry but I don't think those descents will be at all fun.

£65.00 ?

Compare this with the Chris Walker.... which admittedly is not on closed roads, but is an equally beautiful route, 85 miles and 10 000 ft of ascent. Fully waymarked, feed stops, broom wagon, less than 100 riders all for just £7.00 !

Had a look on BBC weather, should be light rain around Wrexham and Llangollen, 18mph winds though. Should be a cracking day though!!!

Never been to a Sportive before, but Mrs Brewer had a Uni assignment covering panning camera shots so off we headed up to the Horseshoe pass.

Covered the race at 35, 65 and near the finish. What a great bunch people and very friendly too. I'd not be able to muster a smile after some of those hills

If there's enough interest she's going to upload a few hundred to photobucket and I'll put the link up in the next week.

Despite the wind what a nice day

Would be great to see the photo's. It was an enjoyable but extremely hard ride. Managed to complete it in 5hrs 41mins but I am suffering now, an extreme amount of pain in my legs.
