Up yours Helen...I mean up your way, it is difficult to navigate. Remember you are dealing with ultra- sensitive humans here, South of the Thames and not hardened by North Sea breezes. I haven't finished cleaning the salt off my bike yet - the chain is ruined!

If you look up Essex Roads CC, they had a 100 mile sportive called the spring lambs which left from Billericay but came back in through Danbury and round Hanningfield. it was all on lovely quiet lanes, so if you could get a copy of the route from them, that'd give you some nice roads. It was listed a couple of weeks ago in cycling weekly but I've chucked my copy mow.

Hope that helps.

By the way, I'm based in Epping, with some nice lanes North of me. If anyone fancies a ride over this way sometime, let me know (PM me).

Possibly. In the dark or daylight? Flat or hilly? Speedy or my speed (11-12mph)?

See, that's why the mouseketeers roll the way we do. We don't restrict ourselves to such limited choices. Fast and slow, flat and hilly, dark, daylight, and if we're really good, back before it gets dark again, and if not, before it gets too light.
