I've had a really crappy sore throat for a few days now, slight sniffle and a slight fever, apart from the throat quite mild, but not man flu that's for sure. Slightly nasty cough starting too...
Hope you're better soon.

Good God man you are obviously delirious, off to your bed post haste. Sky Sports and a large brandy may just save you.

Gargle some TCP. Seems to work well for me on sore throats. Dilute it first obviously. Otherwise just lie in bed.

Someone told me to gargle on TCP. I did, and will never forgive them. Don't do it Kovu, there isn't enough chocolate in the world to take the taste away. (or grapefruit, but that's another story)

Kovu, you have my deepest sympathy.

For a woman to have the symptoms of manflu you must only have hours of agonising life left. I applude you that you should wish to spend your dying moments here with us on Cycle Chat. One can only assume that your nearest and dearest are at your bedside and the undertakes have been notified and are on standby.

If you haven't already made your will, can I have your bike?

Well if a man gets a cold and it is death's door and called manflu then when a woman gets 'manflu' it must be really, really bad given that nothing else gets them like that.;)

Oh well, if you only have a bit of cough in woman terms then either it is nothing and you are faking the manflu bit or you throat is in bits on your lap as you type and your lungs have been coughed up on the screen.
:becool:

It's been scientifically proven (probably) than men filter the worst viruses and bacteria thereby saving womankind from our suffering. Women therefore are only exposed to the weaker strains and that is why they can struggle on while we are at deaths door. It must be true I once stood next to a scientist.
Hope you get well soon Kovu, you obviously caught one that slipped through the Man filter. Though if it is man flu then you should probably be wrapped up in a duvet watching the final day of the test match alternating between Heinz tomato soup and beer.

Nice to hear I'm not the only one suffering today! - well not "nice" but you know what I mean. It does make you feel better though when other people are feeling s**t too.

I'm proper snotty!! - it's not good at all, but the Mini Cadbury Cream Eggs which were on BOGOF in the Co-op last night along with the hot Ribena are a sort of comfort....;)

If you can eat cream eggs and chocolate you've got a cold!!!!! When you've got a temperature of 104 and the thought of cream eggs makes you retch, you've got flu!

Get well soon anyway. A duvet day always makes you feel better. ;);)

Exactly - I'm well aware I have a cold....as I am not a man, I would never profess to having "Flu". Thanks for the well wishes ;)

Sorry - was particularly ill with flu in January and I would have loved to have been eating chocolate.

Paracetamol to reduce fever.

Antihistamine to stop runny eyes and nose.

Zinc to strengthen the immune system.

Warm fire.

Sofa.

Old cycling DVDs.

Treat a virus and you'll get rid of it in a week.

Do nothing and it will be gone in 7 days.
