Ergon grips advice needed please

Hi everyone, I am fairly new to cycling. I need some advice please.
I have a btwin rockrider 5.0 which has gripshifts,

I want to fit some ergon gp1 grips which are 95mm long.
The existing grip is only 82mm long.
My question is will moving my gripshifts inward on the handlebars
(so i can fit the ergon grip on) by 13mm change the tension of my gears?
Will it be ok to do that? or should I cut the ergons down?

If you have room on the bars, just move the shifters in a touch. I did the same on an old hybrid & it had no effect on the gears

What he said , your not altering the cable length just bending it a little bit more .

Thanks everyone, Ergon grips fitted really easily, thanks for the info. I no longer have pain from my carpal tunnel now
