I have three pairs of the Humvees and certainly don't find them heavy. Great shorts.

I haven't wore mine since last year; I have the in all lengths and I would only describe the full length and3/4 as heavy when wet but not the short shorts and if dry none are heavy IMO unless you are carrying something in one of the numerous handy pockets
