Going to have to go out during the night !!!!! i have just discovered that the bike i am riding is a childcs bike !!!! not only that but it rattles and is not very pretty, along with me in my mish mash of clothing
BUT all the real cyclists are coming out here, and they are on their grown up bikes looking very shiney and slick

If you like the bike and enjoy cycling then it's no-one else's business, whatever bike you have.

I think you'll find that most people aren't going to be judging you when out cycling anyway, and the small minority that do are saying more about themselves than they are about you.

If you didn't notice it was a childs bike before, chances are no one else will so make the most of it 'til the new one comes.

Just stick a couple of those old GB stickers on your bike and the style conscious French cyclists will accept that your nationality is the reason for your serious lack of cycling chic.

I too live in France and you can't look any more daft that most of the frogs round here, with their large bellies, expensive road bikes and lycra that is clearly too small. I, of course, cycle on a medium quality road bike, perfectly fitting lycra, hugging my slim and toned body.

That looks alright. I wouldn't have taken it to be a childs bike.
