You and I are at about the same place. I recently got a KICKR Core and set it up yesterday and rode the Rouvy tutorial.
Mine is temporarily set up in a downstairs living room but will be relocated to a smaller upstairs room for more permanent use. I have been asking similar questions on an other thread and will also be investigating fans and mats and such.
I went with a Wahoo KICKR core in the end, I have a 7 day Rouvy trial I’m looking forward to testing.
I found a cheap mat on Planet-X which seems to have good reviews, and some towels to protect the bike.
Any other tips please?
A bike thong is better for protecting the bike (at leas the top tube) without falling into your crank. I usually have a towel over the bars/headset also.
I take it you have at least one good fan. I run 3, a remote control pedestal fan, a vac master floor fan (also remote control) and a gym fan. When the latter fails I'll get another remote control vac master.
A head band (I use a castelli sweat Gutr) is great too.
Depending on your set up a trainer desk is great too. I use one of the cheap knock offs of the Wahoo desk (about £1/3) I think planet x do them too.
A wheel riser if you don't have one with your KickR is pretty much needed too.
I will look at the wheel raiser, I have decent fan with a remote, I will take a gander at the bike thong as well I know those are relatively cheap.
