If you can see yourself carrying on for at least five more years you could do what I did .... enter the Metric Century a Month Challenge. That would get you sixty 62-milers and almost at an Eddington of 62 even with just one effort per month. In my case, like you, I am now stalled on my Eddington No. of 63 as I never really aimed bigger than that. Even my Metric Eddington is now stuck at 93 as I just don't feel I have any more metric tons in me. The various Cyclechat challenges are an excellent way of improving your Eddington by thinking long-term though.

Cheers mate - but the 50 score I'm talking about is for 2024 rides only. My overall Eddington Number is 73 at the minute.

1 year and 2 months since my last increase but today a new Eddington of 101 ,16 rides over 102 for the next one it's getting harder

Finally got around to going through old records to add daily mileages from a couple of LELs, and found I've now got to Eddington 108 (imperial).

And the usual bad news:

I think 110 will be the end of the road for me, E-wise anyway.

At the end of 2019 my Eddington Number (E#) was 50, having jumped by 6 in the previous 2 years. Easy, I thought, I can reach my E# of 60 within another 2 years. For the next three years my E# has only increased by 2 each year and now stands at 56. And yet in 2020 I made 7 rides of more than 52, in 2021 4 rides more than 54 and last year did 5 more than 56. I am vaguely perplexed, yet I will persist.

I will make 60, I'm just not sure when!

The above was january 2023. In 2023 my E# stayed static at 56. I managed only 1 ride of more than 56 miles which was before my hip replacement surgery and then recovery.

In 2024 my target was to make E# 60 - all I needed was 7 rides more than 60 miles. Easy, or so I thought. Between april and november I completed 7 rides of varying length between 61 and 84 miles. My E# is now 59. I remain perplexed.

I will make E# 60, hopefully next year!
