De-greasers.......... For the cassette I use an old t-shirt - run a folded edge between the sprockets. Can be done quickly on the bike. If very mucky, add a little squirt of WD onto the rag/t-shirt. Done. cheap !

Just a word in favour of muc-off...

Those of you with consevatories with white pvc will know it gets grubby, and its a bugger to clean - just spray some muc-off on a rag and wipe the grubbyness away in a flash - no effort required. Millions of brownie points from The Mrs.

Also does the stains that you get on caravans in the same way. HTH

Cheers! WIll try that one.
For my bike tho I do like to take the cassette apart to clean it. I like to know it's totally degunked and shiny...

Tesco baby wipes do the same function in the FF house.

Other retailers of degreasers to consider are;

Screwfix @ £6.19 per 2 litres My link

White spirit, Paraffin, Petrol all work spectacularly well and have other household uses. As said above, allow to settle after use and decant the 'clean' spirit away for another day.

You are aware that diesel is carcinogenic?

So is virtually anything according to the many experts looking to blame anything and everything on an inability to stamp out cancers once and for all, instead of realising that perhaps this is one battle that "nature" will win. Oh before anyone gets all holier than though I am a cancer survivor, mine was throat cance, of course this was my own fault the specilaist said, "dont you know smoking causes cancer", bit of a problem for him as I have never smoked, thus you see and understand my cynicism at remarks like the ablove
