Really sad as it was a nice hack bike... and the Brooks saddle was nicely broken in!

Probably a lost cause but maybe worth logging it on bike register and find that bike, as well as keeping an eye out on FB muppetplace.

Chances are however that it's been robbed by some smackhead for their own use, rather than to sell on for a profit. To that end worth keeping an eye out in the local area too; especially if you have the knowledge / balls to poke around the parts that scallies often frequent.

Yeah I agree. Police said as it's not valuable it'll be ridden till it gets a puncture then in a canal...
I am checking ebay/muppetplace and gumtree just in case though!

If it's any consolation I've found a number of bikes that have apparently been subjected this fate; once no longer useable it'll doubtless be dumped, however it takes extra effort to chuck it in the canal for no real reward so fingers' crossed it might just turn up in the street..
