Those Hi-Gear tubes are just plain old butyl tubes that "does what it says on the tin/box"

Nowt wrong with them at all, they are the same sort of thing that come fitted in BSO's. They do a job.

By the way. Poundland now stock similar tubes under their "myCycle" brand if anyone else needs a bargain - but only MTB sizes (16/18/20/24/26 x 1.75-2.125, Schrader valves only)

I'm guessing they cost about a quid?
I'm quite taken with the Poundland puncture kits. Multi-spanner pressed from the finest cheese, 2 tubes of rubber solution, some patches and 2 tyre levers for one of your Earth pounds.
