The two 56cm touring frames seem to be very different geometry or the bespoke paint one is more of a 52/54 cm one.

Think they will be out of my price range but if it was around 53cm I would love that.

Good morning,

This one does indeed look massive https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/186230293707 but the blurb does say that it is designed for 26" wheels.

As well as adding to the length of the head tube the smaller wheels may also mean that the downtube may be slightly more horizontal that a 700c frame and this would also extend the length of the head tube.

Pasted over my 56cm frame, it is a bit confusing as the frames are not photographed at the same angle vertically but it does look less odd to
me. :-)

I think that I might quite like the yukky brown one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/186230215370 as Carlton did something in the 1970s (and possibly earlier) that photographed terribly but looked great in real life.

I wouldn't be suprissed if the selling price ends up being quite low as there quite a few Genesis 725 frames available in sales as well as SPA's 725 frame which is a great price all year round. Okay the frames may be hand made in Leeds, but they weren't hand made to the person who buys them off ebay own spec, so they are no different to a hand made in Taiwan.

I also notice that the descriptions are a bit bare, whenever I see 853, or not in the blue one's case,/725 Frame Tube stickers I like to know what the forks and stays are made of. After all what's the point of paying a premium for 725, heat reated 4130 (520/525) and then getting basic forks and stays made out of un heat treated 4130 and designed for heavy duty use, safe for a 25 stone rider on a moutain bike?

Bye

Ian

Want to hazard a guess to what it could be?

Not sure but certainly looks like a quality frame and not too badly specced , if it was local I would be happy to have a bid on it.

It has a certain Carlton look to it @Spokesmann

About the right size for you

I’m considering a punt, but the photo is awful, so I’m procrastinating. I’ve never bid at an auction before.
