We have a lot of stem ginger in curry and stir fries. It’s best in cake but that defeats the objective!

I don't know how much of an "old wives' tale" it is but eating ginger is supposed to help with nausea. I think it was suggested as a way to alleviate the symptoms of morning sickness.

I love crystallised ginger.

I had some nausea after a bout of Covid. I went to a pharmacy in a supermarket and the pharmacist told me to buy some ginger nut biscuits - she said they would be as good as anything she could give me without a prescription. The placebo effect was great - I felt much better after eating them without any guilt!

I've been smashing home-made flapjacks recently which are about 8-10% raw ginger by mass off the top of my head. Goes well with dark chocolate and orange, and (IMO) isn't overpowering. Approximate recipe in this thread

You don't actually need to take ginger orally if you don't like the taste of the stuff. You can take it as an anal suppository. Some people do so as treatment for their haemorrhoids.

Others use a similar technique for (ahem) "recreational purposes".

The mind boggles at such human ingenuity.

Thanks for enriching my day with that new nugget of knowledge..

In totally unrelated news the mind turns to thesubstantial knobbly bit of ginger root in the fridge awaiting the next flapjack session..

I've got a dodgy tummy after eating some apple cake which was a little long in the tooth, and a lady at the ladies shed brought in some ginger cake two slices should do the job!

Chinese think it's good for your Feng shue or is it Yin and Yang, whatever.
You can try ginger tea, that's a nice change. But won't work for you if you don't like the taste.

In curries and soups.
You can buy bags of ginger, prepared and frozen in ice cube size blocks. Sainsbury, sometimes; Morrisons do it but ours closed.

We used to carry a supply of ginger nuts in the car for when the kids started to get carsick. They did seem to help.
