eating and drinking when cycling

Bought a bottle of lucozade partway through a long ride to replenish supplies. Drank a bit and put the rest in my now-empty drink bottle.

A few miles up the road, bottle in mouth, pull top with teeth - jet of fizzy drink and bubbles straight to back of throat!!

(Bleedin' obvious result, if I'd thought about it!).
