Well my final choice was.... well after going to another Lbs in my home town who sorted out the probs with my front deraileur, basically I had a compact with a tripple front cage, fitted from new, not good  .... he for free gave my bike the once over. I was well impressed with his customer service, he`s known locally as a top bike mechanic. Anyhow I asked him for his thoughts on the wheels I mention. He stocks the Eastons and able to get the other 2 promptly. But he recomended me the Aero X1`s, so I got them. I hadn`t heard of them, not like me to do any research on them and soforth.

They look the dog dangly`s, totally quiet freewheel. On a 60 mile ride at the weekend, knowing in the back of my mind of the placebo effect. I was happy to hear the mountain goat that I ride with, comment on how he was now going to get a set of new wheels. To me it certainly was easier going up hills, certainly accelerate quicker and hold their speed easier. Now that sounds like a magazine test, but hand on heart that was how it felt to a newbie like myself. No doubt the other wheels are as good, but I am well happy with mine. Probably paid more for them than online, but its been worth it with the service I have been getting from the shop.
