Hi Guys - I know this tent has been discussed in other sections, but some of the discussions took place a while ago. If any of you own/have experience with the tent , could ya please answer any of the following:

  • How roomy is the sleeping section? Im a big guy (6'3) - would it be spacious enough for 2 people to be comfortable?
  • In terms of comfort is it a 'get by' tent? Sacrificing comfort for the MASSIVE porch
  • How tour specific is it? Like would it be ok for general camping - possibly light festival?
  • Is this the best choice???? lol - i saw on other sections people saying about it's weight - would it be manageable solo touring with panniers?
Cheers in advannce guys!

I have a Duolight tent. There's room for two, It will be fine for festivals i've used mine in Scotland for the Knockengorroch festival. I tour solo with it and don't really notice its additional weight. I'd not stress out over the weight.

Well l have Hilleberg Nallo 2man, and though have not done that much touring 5 weeks in France max, for me the tent ticked all the boxes. l'm 6-1 and found the tent to be ideal for me, though never have l used it for two people to sleep in. Relatively expensive but of a very good quality. The tent has today just seen the light of day for quite awhile and is now on the front lawn stretching its guide ropes, waiting for 4th of June when it and l will be off to France.
What ever you buy best of luck with your "touring"

That is a heavy tent. I toured with a similar weight tent and then switched to something nearly half the weight but still 2 man. The difference was like night and day.

Do you really want to be carrying something like that around for the rest of your touring days ?

It's a shame it's such a specialist tent as I'd like the opportunity to see it in person/feel the weight

I picked up on you saying 'would it be manageable solo touring with panniers'. You originally mentioned 2 people and comfort and with that weight 2 of you could split things to spread the load / weight and it would be ideal.

However for solo touring I think its too heavy. There are many alternatives, mine is a Vaude Hogan Ultralite but there other options at similar weights and prices http://www.gear-zone.co.uk/outdoor-...ign=shopping&gclid=CPqj59jytrcCFXMRtAodrx4ApQ
