Well here is a story.

I have just bought this for the second time nice find and local


But this time I will build it up not sure what spec but thinking a simple 5 or 6 speed set up .

just tried a set of 27" wheels in and hey presto they fir nicely and so do some old GB calipers i have by the look of it

Spent some time tonight cleaning the rust off the bottom bracket threads and removing the powder coating from inside and around the seat tube . And sorting out a headset as well .

Forks are stamped 1493 and if I remember rightly that's what was on the bottom bracket shell as well .

Seat post is 27.2 now I have removed the excess .

I didnt understand what you meant to start with but then i looked at the picture a bit more

Heres an idea to clear some space. I always imagined a mounted saddle, like the mounted moose heads in old cartoons, would be a good way to remember an old saddle and a good way of freeing up shed space.

If I can come up with an easy way to mount a clamp, I might try and make one.

Oh, and back on topic... Looking forward to see how this one turns out. Are you thinking singles speed? Or do you have a groupset under there?

well i was thinking single speed but have decided upon either a 6 or 7 speed set up using some of the components stripped from this Kalkhoff Coupé du monde and the wheels are comng off a Dawes Galaxy mixte i picked up last week , well that is this weeks plan .

Trying to do all the work myself instead of getting some of it done at my local bike shop
