Somewhere I've seen a picture of what looked like dual-pivot calipers but instead of the cable pulling up (or in the case of Bromptons, down) on one side of the caliper, it pulled across the top, making for a low-profile fitment... of course, now I have use for such a thing, I can't find it and googling cross-pull calipers isn't getting me anywhere...

Found them... either the TRP T925, or the Campy TT ones... neither are cheap, I suspect they will both be like running into a brick wall compared to the stock Brompton caliper....

I wouldn't count on it. TT bikes don't really need fantastic brakes. I'd fit salmon pads to the Brommie front brake instead.

Not an option... I'm not searching for better brakes, I'm trying to find some way to use the standard cable set that FSA sell for the Vision TT brake levers... I've fitted a pair of Nitto bullhorns to this particular Brompton, and they're hosting the Vision TT brakes.... but as far as I can tell there isn't an aftermarket option for the brake cables, so the choices are buy lots of rear brake cables by themselves (the probable solution) in order to reach the standard brakes, or fit a different caliper .... a normal side-pull dual-pivot can be had that would fit but would interfere with the luggage block and/or the handlebar stem clip.... Lateral-pulls would solve tha tproblemin exchange for having to drill out the mount hole to accept a sleeve nut rather than the normal nutted design that Brompton use.... For the moment (as I can get rear inners from Halfrauds for sensible money) I'll stay with the stock brakes... I rather expect there'll be a shiny new caliper in Persephone's future though. It's all part of the fun when you're modding a Brompton, you can either get yourself a shopping list of "made for Brompton" custom bits or you need to put some engineering in there... I've got a shopping-list super-mod already, now I want a head-turner where I've had to solve a lot of "not made for Bromtpon" problems... there's a bigger one loooming on the horizon as I attempt to shoehorn a pair of Campy high-flange hubs into a Brompton and get the whole thing working with a mix-and-match Campy grupetto and a pair of Cinelli drop-bars...
