Dropping weight from bike - where to start?

On that.. to be perfectly blunt, I wouldnt bother.
Wheels are generally are good starting point, but whatever you did or spend, you will still end up with a heavy bike.

Unless you are deeply in love with it, don't bother. You'll end up spending more than a new bike in no time.

Yep, wheels are a good starting point but you're not going to save much there when the bulk of the weight on that bike will be in the frame and suspension forks. As others have said you'll spend a fortune and still won't have something particularly light. Ride it, enjoy it, and start saving for something lighter.

I thought as much just i usually end up with about 10kg on my back in my bag. What are some of the lighter hybrid bikes on the market? Looking around a bunch of sites they rarely list the bikes weight.
