The problem is lack of Police patrols on the roads. When every county had more than a handful of Police out on patrol the laws of chance meant that idiotic behaviour stood a good chance of being spotted and the driver pulled over. There are now so few Police around that there's never been a better time to drink-drive, speed or break traffic laws and every driver knows this. I keep asking myself how much longer this can go on before Joe Public realises there are no Police traffic patrols (despite all the PR programmes on TV) and complete anarchy breaks out.

Does someone wish they could afford a decent car, but decides to slate anyone that is fortunate to be able to get one (long hours and overtime - not leased or company owned)

Not likely , and its nothing to do with money, just never wanted to be in the "ive got a BMW" club. and I've had some cracking cars in my time.

I was driving a fully loaded 17 seater minibus of kids, with a large trailer on the back through Woodford in NE London on Sunday.

a complete cockwomble (white, male, wrong side of 50) in an open top porche overtook me in a space big enough for a motorbike requiring me to take evasive action, which in 4 tonnes of vehicle and passengers is not something you want to repeat.

He then blasted off and did the same thing again to the vehicle ahead.

when he went up a side road I seriously considered following him on the basis of 17 to one was good odds
Ah yes, you was in the Manor road area of Woodford and Chigwell when the self entitled millionaire motorist and ladies who lunch live in their 4 x 4 machines.

Just try the Primrose Restaurant in Chigwell to see Ladies who lunch together in all their loud mouthed splendor

It's not just the motorists that aren't paying enough attention in the heat, the pedestrians are all over the place, wandering off pavements, standing in the roads and generally being a hindrance too. I think they need to take a test before they're allowed out too!

Cyclists are shoot too at times. I was driving home on Wednesday after work at around 4pm, the road is a busy A road heading into a small town. Cyclists often cross the road just outside a factory to get onto a cycle path. But they just have to wait, there is no pelican crossing or anything, or warning signs for motorists, 40 mph speed limit but people often speed and there are a lot of HGV's. 2 cyclists one woman quite a bit infront of the man cycling on a pavement on the left side of the road, travelling in same direction as the traffic. The woman glanced behind to see if there was any traffic approaching from behind and crossed the road without slowing down much (the pavement has large sections of ramps down onto the road at the crossing). The man just turned off the pavement without looking at all behind him and went straight across the road without glancing behind him once. Fortunately I was the only car on the left side of the road approaching him from behind and was about 50 yards behind and going well below the speed limit. He didn't have mirrors or sod all, and I had been watching him for a while. Maybe he would of heard a HGV, not sure about a car though. Absolute farking moron. I am careful as anything on that road as I know it is dangerous. I often bemoan car drivers, but that cyclist showed the highest order of idiocy I have yet to see on the road so far. The worst thing is if I was driving a touch faster and closer and killed him or seriously injured him I would imagine the public would possibly point the finger at me if no witnesses were present. Probably mentally scar me for life also.

Not a real lot of cyclists around here, but pratts like the one mentioned above make me understand why some motorists dislike cyclists. Maybe he wanted to die, who knows..

I saw a cyclist yesterday, do a right turn across two lanes to get to the kerb on the other side of the road, and nearly wipe out a motorcyclist who was oncoming.

There are plenty of poor drivers in all makes of car of course, but observation leads me to think that Audi cars attract a MUCH higher rate of poor drives. It can't be that owning an Audi makes you a poor driver, so I wonder why poor drivers like Audi's?
