I avoided lycra until the day that I realised that, actually, I'm never going to look good whatever I wear. So I stopped worrying about it - now it's just about comfort.
For some of us Lycra just isn't very flattering. I certainly wont be tempted into any until I am more man than lard. I appreciate these threads about the alternatives which ultimately benefit everyone. I guarantee you don't want to see me in lycra either also it's good to wear something that you can wear whilst not on the bike without feeling a bit of a goose. I just wouldnt feel cool going around in sainsburys all lycra'd up.
I was joking about the real man bit. I have a bit of a gut and do feel a little self concious at times when in Lycra. That said I know what I can do on the bike and have never had anyone say anything to my face when off the bike. I have also found that Tenn Sports make roomier clothing than many companies
