This happend right outside my work, this is the road to the front of the units. We saw all the Electricity Board vans etc but we didn't know what was going on.

Poor mut. Lucky it wasn't a kid though!

Poor dog.:bravo:

Probably wouldn't have hurt a kid much in passing. They tend to wear insulating shoes and the leaking current would have been much less. Touching the post may be different though.

With electricity leaking into the ground animals are prone to providing a short circuit route between front and back legs via the heart and are easier to electrocute this way. It is something electricians have to take into account when spacing out earth rods on farmland to ensure the voltage gradient in the ground isn't too big.

electrocuting dogs, sounds like my dream job, maybe there's a course i can do ;-)
it's not quite my dream job, that would be electrocuting dog owners, but it's a step in the right direction. in fact i'd happily run a few volts through anyone with even an intention of having a 'pet' anything ;-)

cheers, velocidad.

Velocidad, I'm shocked! (Not as much as the poor dog, though). You always seemed a quite gentle chap...

well i am a quite gentle chap really, just with a deep loathing of all things pet related. the whole concept is thankfully lost on me. maybe electrocution is a bit harsh , maybe some therapy for those that might be thinking of sharing their home with an animal, and those that already do, could be removed from society and sectioned ;) i'd put my hand up for that job too

cheers, velocidad.

So you think it is the masses that need the therapy rather than yourself ?

Someone's left flowers. But I notice they've left them on the hedge 'next' to the pole! ;0)

"Tie these on will you?"
"No you do it, I'm sure it'll be safe now."

i knew it was a mistake to use the word therapy ;)

and before this gets all heated and out of context, i would not knowingly hurt any animal, whether it was thought of as a pet or not. however i am of the opinion that the keeping of an animal as a 'pet' is rather odd.

cheers, velocidad.

Your opinion is respected.

Let's let all the domesticated pets roam the streets then. I'm sure there'd be a couple wanting to be your friend.

Your 'tongue in cheek' comment about electrocuting them doesn't fit right with your 'would not knowingly hurt them' comment.

I wonder if you really would flick the switch and stand and watch. Go you.
