WHY ARE YOU RACING ON THE PUBLIC HIGHWAY !!!!!

If you can call 8mph on a £99 Argos BSO Full Sus MTB whilst covered in dust, cow shite and sweat from 15 miles off road, "racing"... I was entering my village, he was going through it, on to a longer run I assumed. Was a serious post at all, he was simply slower than me. Jesus....

I'm not sure I can be part of this community anymore, far too much reckless behavior being flaunted. Gives everyone a bad name!

why do you all get soooo excited when you "scalp" someone? is it a macho thing? Is it even a true scalp when the person you are scalping is probably just out on a leisurely ride and is probably capable of doing a lot more speed.

my mate can do 10 miles in under 18 minutes yet he often rides at my pace when he's out on his own. it wouldn't be a big deal if one of you "scalped" him and it's unlikely he'd chase you down coz it wouldn't bother him that you passed (unless you were a numpty driver, he's been known to chase them down with great success! LOL)

My dads got a mate..........and he breaks bones!!!!!

Nearly scalped some big dude on a mountain bike yesterday...........was gaining on him down a hill........ and HE JUMPED THROUGH THE RED LIGHT!!!!

I being a good cyclist, stopped and waited - the light was definitely red when he got to it, and he knew it was cos he looked to his right to see if there was any traffic coming.

Cheek of it. So that was it - i followed along the road, over a roundabout, up the next road, determined to catch him, and just as i was about to get him, the bugger turned off right into some side road. I have no idea where i would have been if I'd followed, so left him to it. Arse.

Sunday even, on a road I cycle on regularly, long, wide, straight and well surfaced but very exposed and usually has the headwind from hell, but on this occasion, all was calm. I was hugely impressed with myself with being able to maintain 26-27mph on the flat.

And then someone who looked about twice my age, and also riding an old steel bike, went sailing past me
