Yeh.....but if I told my wife it was a cheap one from Halfords she wouldn't know the difference! Not that I would.....but I certainly could. I wouldn't though because lying is lying.

My good lady thinks De Rosa bikes cost hundreds not thousands and that building your own bike is actually way cheaper than buying a pint of milk if you know how to sniff out a good deal. I'm not a bad person though................honest.

I have the worst possible scenario... a wife who is also a cyclist and has a good knowledge of what things cost!
Hence it is impossible to slip upgrades through, or if you do try it is a case of "Well, you can upgrade mine as well!"

Mrs O sees the steady stream of parcels arriving but has little interest in what they contain. We each have our own money and are free to spend it on what we want. She does know I am getting a new bike and has kind,y made space in the spare room for it to live.

My misses lets me get what I want within reason. With things like tubes/tyres/lube it's just a straight out purchase. With things that cost a lot, I tend to talk to her about it, but she always says that I will buy it anyway.

The other day I was talking to he about my current build (CDF) and it was her that said I should get a black team pro ti to match my new bike, as It's a white/black/silver build and my current one is honey. She just said that I will build one up soon that the honey will match again. I was quite taken back.

I don't tell her everything so much in words, but on Sundays when I give her at least 1 hour of tender loving care, she realises it doesn't all need words . I thoroughly cleaned her chain this morning, even using pipe cleaners between the links, and she loves me for it .
