I mean spitting. While cycling. A cycling buddy a while ago pointed out that I do it a lot.
I've been conscious of it since. I did a 106-mile sportive on Saturday, and I have to admit, I was spitting a lot. I don't know why I do it. I do it when running too. I don't do it in normal everyday activities.

I don't often spit but I do snot-bomb - a lot. I get a really running/blocked nose when cycling so it's a bit of necessity. I always shoulder-check to see if anyone is behind me but it's not the first time I've been in a group and been hit with the spray of someone in front xx(

I have never when riding a bike. Indeed, I can't remember the last time I spat. I clear my nose, but don't spit.

If you have a spitting habit - don't go on holiday to Singapore.

No, it's disgusting. I'll make an exception for flying insects though.

Only ever spit to remove flying objects / insects.

Never quite understood why footballers need to spit every few minutes, but in other sports like say tennis you never see it.

To me anybody that spits is vulgar
Well, me too, in normal life... I used to have an old NHS poster, with "do not spit" in about 20 languages.
But I don't know why I do it when cycling or running.
A quick google tells me I'm really not alone on that.

I am rubbish at spiting - I am more likely to dribble than shoot it across the road. I am more of a swill and swallow kind of guy.

Just checking - we are talking solo cycling here and not some kind of weird act on a tandem?
