I may be in the minority; yet I'm genuinely bored when we stop for ten to fifteen minutes at a shop. I'd rather be riding while others are dawdling IMO. It really doesn't take much time to buy a drink or go to the bathroom. Or go before you leave and carry what you need. What's your preference to stop or not to stop?

I very much like stopping half way up steep hills.

The stop was the most memorable part of one of the three club rides I have been on. The debating went on for miles between the obergruppenfuhrer and gruppenfuhrer on the front who were unable to agree on a spot to match requirements of both, too damp, too windy, to exposed, too secluded, too cold, too rough. The rest of us were not consulted, FFS we were only going to eat our pieces, not settle down for life:sad:.
Funny to look back on^_^.

My last ride with a club, we literally spent more time in cafes than on the road. They were nice people though so perhaps I'll go out again with them.

Insert witty title here
As several people have commented, it's a club run, it's supposed to be sociable, but few riders can hang around afterwards. Stopping in the middle of the ride, you have an excuse to be sociable. Few of us could justify hanging around after the ride has ended. Since doing club runs, my ride profile has begun to become similar to a club run, ride out for an hour or so, stop for a coffee, then come back. I'll occasionally skip the coffee stop, but prefer to include it. Good idea to refuel after 1.5 hours, and I prefer not to do this on the bike.

Not being able to stop whenever I want is a big reason why I have zero interest in club runs
^^^^ This. And the view on your ride being someone else's arse. And having no interest in going fast. And wanting to be flexible with my route and distance depending on what suits ME. And having no interest in dressing in lycra and wearing a plastic h***et. And being an anti-social nobber. Perhaps club riding is not for me then?

If the weathers nice and it's been a good run so far then yes, if the weather is crap or is forecast to be crap I prefer to keep moving and thus warmer****

****Actual coffee shops are favoured over garage forecourt lukewarm urine
